Review of Midori Traveler's Notebook (Passport Size)

Update: Am now using this for note taking and daily budgeting! Works great cause I can fit this in the back of my jeans pocket whee!

Midori is a Japanese company specialising in paper products. Perhaps its most famous product has to be the Traveler's Notebook series, with two sizes (Traveler's and Passport) and several colours (black, brown and blue [2015 Limited Edition] for the Traveler's and black and brown for the Passport).

This is a brown Midori Traveler's Notebook in Passport Size I got from a friend. As can be seen from the picture, it's been nicely aged and the scuffings and scratches tell a good many stories.

First Impression: 5/5

The leather smells ever so good and feels great also. A quality product indeed! Everything is in order here, May not be in pristine condition but that goes to show that it has a story behind it. I like items with stories.

Dimensions: 5/5

Small enough to fit in the back pocket of jeans (though if you have three notebooks in it, it might be a little bulky!) but big enough for notes and whatnot. In fact, I plan to use this to jot down my thoughts, diary entries maybe and even contact details of people. Handy size and more than enough for my purposes.

Cost and Value: 5/5

Retail on this costs slightly above 50 bucks at the moment, but I got this at 30. A steal really. Shout out to my bestie for the great price :D

Conclusion: 5/5

The Midori Traveler's Notebook is a system in which several notebooks are kept together with a leather cover. Such a system is useful in the case where the Midori has more than one purpose (eg. to take notes and record details). Then, each purpose gets its own notebook.

Refills for this notebook isn't particularly cheap. Thus, I would advise one to go for the many other options out there, such as Bandiapple or Muji to refill. Your wallet will thank you.

Should you get this at retail price: Yes if you like leather and the Midori system.

Should you get this second hand: Of course!

Disclaimer: This notebook was bought with my own money and I was not compensated in any way. Views expressed are mine and mine alone. I may be wrong and you are free to disagree with me.

I hope this was useful.
